Nor here using FF 1.5.0.8 (OpenSuSE 10.1 standard setup)
Maybe you have an extension that is getting involved? Try running FF as
a new profile (i.e. without any extensions).
BTW: Shame there's no CL flag equivalent to FF's "safe mode" in "the
other OS" (or is there? - anyone know better? "firefox --help" doesn't
show it).
