There was a thread with similar subject dated Nov. 24th. ZMD seems to be locked by another update process running in background.
At this time you need to wait for that process freeing the ZMD.
Thanks Reinhard, I'll try to locate the thread. This is occurring after a fresh boot in both KDE and Gnome so I don't know what else could be running. I'll try to find out.
