Hi all
If I touch Sax in any way my screen goes wild, mostly into single colour with some thin stripes top bottom and left right (one or two pixels wide). I know the mouse is reacting cause the thin stripes move change and colour. Re starting the system does not help, then it starts with the wild screen as soon as login screen pops up. The only option I have is to start with an iso disk and reinstall sax.
If I want to switch from one user to an other the same thing happens. In that case the only thing I have to do is pull the plug and start p again.
So in order to switch users I poweroff the laptop and start again choosing the desired user for log in.
I am running on a pavilion 5000 with amd turion 64 and ATI board
Radeon xpress 200M 5955 3d is not enabled
I did not install ATI software.
According to ATI I have to reinstall the software every time that the kernel updates..that is to much work for the time being. besides I do not need 3D yet.
Linux 2.6.18.1-13-default x86_64 openSUSE 10.2 (X86-64) Beta1plus
I understand that quiet a lot of those boards are in use nowadays, It might be worth having a look into it.
Worth filing a bug report??
