I don't disaggree as they are used more or less on both
Internet/Intranet VPN/WAN as well as LAN. Also I use some of them daily,
so default installation for me is fine as well.
I suggested "Thin Client Computing" as their main purpose, and due to
there are both central server parts and remote desktop client parts
involved.

"Remote Display Applications"(RDA)?
