Installed 10.2 Alpha4 on a old laptop with the following problems: 1. USB mouse went haywire during install, used touchpad instead. 2. During package selection the screen stayed at 800x600 resolution even though I selected 1024x768 for the install res. 3. The Linksys wireless card is now recognised even though I needed to download a firware package from Ubuntu as one was not available from openSUSE that I could find. I do have the following error though: SoftMAC: Start scanning with channel: 1 SoftMAC: Scanning 14 channels SoftMAC: Scanning finished ieee80211_crypt_tkip: module not supported by Novell, setting U taint flag. ieee80211_crypt: registered algorithm 'TKIP' bcm43xx: set security called, .level = 2, .enabled = 1, .encrypt = 1 ieee80211_crypt_ccmp: module not supported by Novell, setting U taint flag. ieee80211_crypt: registered algorithm 'CCMP' bcm43xx: set security called, .level = 4, .enabled = 1, .encrypt = 1 bcm43xx: set security called, .level = 2, .enabled = 1, .encrypt = 1 bcm43xx: set security called, .level = 4, .enabled = 1, .encrypt = 1 ip_tables: (C) 2000-2006 Netfilter Core Team bcm43xx: Radio turned off bcm43xx: DMA 0x0200 (RX) max used slots: 1/64 bcm43xx: DMA 0x0260 (TX) max used slots: 0/512 bcm43xx: DMA 0x0240 (TX) max used slots: 0/512 bcm43xx: DMA 0x0220 (TX) max used slots: 1/512 bcm43xx: DMA 0x0200 (TX) max used slots: 0/512 bcm43xx: PHY connected bcm43xx: Radio turned on bcm43xx: Chip initialized bcm43xx: DMA initialized bcm43xx: 80211 cores initialized bcm43xx: Keys cleared SoftMAC: Associate: Scanning for networks first. As you can see the radio is turned on and I can scan for and see my wireless network using kwifimanager but the signal strength (0) reported is too poor for a connection. A scan using KWiFiManager shows the correct SSID, Mode:Managed (correct), Quality: 100, WEP: on (correct). Not sure how I should report this as it worked correctly under 10.1 using ndiswrapper. The radio strength on the Linksys wrt54g router is turned up to a higher value as well. Not sure where to report the network problem. Also the onboard eth controller is working fine.
