The factory tree is currently in 10.1.1 status, which means 10.2 alpha 1.
Hi Anders: Well, then if I am not mistaken it is the same upgrade my system from factory with smart upgrade --update than donwload the iso files and make an update?
Well, actually your system will be "fresher" when you use smart (or rug) to update from the factory inst_source. The CD images will be static at the date you download them until the next published version. The factory tree is updated daily, so you'll have the newest available packages from there. However, sometimes dependencies and versions mismatches between what you have installed to what's in the factory tree. One example would be gcc which is 4.1.1 on CD but 4.1.2 on factory, and kernel packages built with the "old" version may cause conflicts with new stuff you compile with 4.1.2. They usually don't, but in theory they can.. :) -- Anders Norrbring Norrbring Consulting --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory-unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory-help@opensuse.org
