I think I noted something similar with jigdo.

as jigdo calls for files independantly (each file=one ftp 
session), it asks download.opensuse.org and get mostly 
different servers.

this is good in a sense (load is balanced), but is the same 
file was donwloaded always from the same server, this would 
be even better.

this could be with less granualrity (may be servers for 32 
bits, and others for 64bits - just an example)
