I suspect this may simply be a buggy ACPI or bios, but before I give up,
I thought I'd ask the list.
I've running 10.1B9 with KDE on a Compaq Presario V2200 (I started with
10.1A3). One nagging bug is the display's backlight not honoring the
Power Management settings. I've tried every combination of "Standby",
"Suspend", and "Power off" but the backlight refuses to stay off after
the designated time. The screen will go blank, the backlight will shut
off temporarily, and after a couple of minutes pop back on (the screen,
however, is still blank). Obviously this reduces the battery time.
Any ideas?
