Timezone installation

I was looking at the installation and during the installation, the default
is Region: USA and the Time Zone is Mountain. In content it however says:
TIMEZONE America/Los_Angeles
I am not sure wether this is related or not. I did a grep on mountain an
the CD1 and found nothing.
Is there a way to change the default?
