Is this really true? I would think that closed source drivers will only be missing from the OSS downloadable .iso images. They would probably be found in the supplemental CD and in the retail box DVD media.
Reading really makes a difference some times. I quote once again:
Most developers of the kernel community consider non-GPL kernel modules to be infringing on their copyright. Novell does respect this position, and will no longer distribute non-GPL kernel modules as part of future products.
The retail box DVD _is_ a future product and as such included in the above statement.

I keep seeing this referred to, but I can't find any reference to it anywhere, I've glanced through the opensuse mail archives, opensuse news, Novell news, searched the Novell site (kernel remove/ban closed source/non-GPL), same with Google, for such a big change, it doesn't seem to have hit any news sites... Either that or the announcement doesn't include any of the keywords above...
