Te permite pasar de la GPU a la GPU incluida en la CPU (en este caso: Intel). Es decir, si estás jugando, te interesará usar la ATI/NVIDIA, pero si estás tirando de batería y simplemente leyendo e-mail, te interesa usar la GPU que viene con el procesador y ahorrar batería.
Lo que pasa es que te meten en un "bundle" ambos drivers para facilitarte la vida.
NVIDIA Optimus. Sólo funcionan bien bien en Windows, de momento. Esa es la tecnología por la que el señor Linus T. le dio el famoso corte de mangas a NVidia.
