¿Abriste los puertos correspondientes (cortafuegos, router...) para permitir el acceso al puerto 443?

¿Y qué error te da? ¿Página en blanco? Revisa los registros de apache para ver si dicen algo e intenta conectar vía telnet:
telnet servidor 443
