El gpg se usa para certificar que los paquetes provienen de suse. Es una
de las mejoras del rpm a partir de la version 7.3, creo.
Puede que sea esto, está documentado en la sdb (2 cosas):
YaST Online Update No Longer Works After a Crash
================================================
Applies to
SuSE Linux: Version 8.0
Symptom
The update process with the YaST Online Update (in short YOU) no longer
works after a crash.
Cause
The directory /var/lib/YaST/patches/i386/update/8.0/ contains wrong patch
information that leads to a crash when being read.
Solution
Delete this information with the following command and resume the update
process:
rm -rf /var/lib/YaST/patches/i386/update/8.0/
Por cierto, eso borra todos los parches que te hayas bajado.
gpg Error Messages While Running YaST Online Update
===================================================
Support knowledgebase (swiegra_you-gpg)
Applies to
SuSE Linux: Version 8.0
Symptom
You want to use YaST Online Update in order to automatically install the
latest patches and updates. However, you get error messages such as the
following:
Warning.
It is not possible to check the patch xxx (xxx represents the patch name)
as no GPG package is installed or the patch description is damaged.
For this reason SuSE can not guarantee that the patch originates from SuSE.
Though the packages can be installed, the error messages recur each time,
regardless of the FTP server you want to use.
Cause
The patch descriptions are checked by means of the call "gpg". "gpg"
attempts to write its log output directly to tty by opening it with
"open". It the call "open" fails, "gpg" returns an error. This occurs e.g.
if the user logged in to KDE as root.
Solution
Download the following update:
ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/ftp.suse.com/suse/i386/update/8.0/yast1/yast
and install it e.g. with 'rpm':
rpm -Uhv yast2-config-online-update.rpm
When using the command above, please note that you should be already in
the same directory as the rpm package. Alternatively, you can enter the
complete path.
For more information on package installation under SuSE Linux 8.0 refer to
our article "Installing Applications under SuSE Linux 8.0"
Needless to say, you can install the update package by way of YaST Online
Update, too.
