Seguramente si tecleas una dirección IP si funciona, si es este tu caso es 
que el DNS no te funciona, haz lo siguiente:

* entra al sistema como  root
* Arranca yast -> Administración del sistema -> configuración de red -> 
Configuracion DNS ( o Nameserser) , Resolución de nombres o algo parecido.

* Teclea la dirección de un DNS (por ej.  194.224.52.6 o cualquier otra)
*Confirma los cambios y rearranca.
