is there any difference (or a linkage) between unix users/groups and users/groups in your Yast module? I did not catch anything from your screenshots, so now it seems to me you spent much time on duplicating of existing functionality (well, with slightly better UI ;-)). I have read the wiki [1], but it seems that you take care just about user/groups managing.
Hi Michal, It appears that I saved my response to you as a draft and forgot about sending it. My apologies for that. I have integrated my response into this week's update on my blog. Please see [1] if you are still interested. Yes, the module works with Linux users/groups, but it only allows the creation/editing/deletion of users and groups that are defined in its configuration file to be "education" groups/users. So, for instance, groups like bin or daemon are not going to show up in the editor since those are not education groups. The idea is to keep things very simple here for parents/teachers who might have a relatively modest level of technical knowledge. Furthermore, as described in my blog post, there are a number of featurest that the YaST Users module simply does not offer (e.g. associating Sabayon/Kiosk tool profiles to groups; batch importing groups/users from CSV files) -- these features were expressed as being important to members of the community when I was doing my requirements gathering for the module. I should also mention that the wiki link you posted is quite outdated. I need to update that particular page, but in the meantime, my requirements document for the module is located at [2]. Let me know if you have any further questions.
