Hi Folks
Reading your Board Meeting Minutes[1], it looks like I can be the first
one requesting a project place on opensuse.org :-)
I hope you know the openSUSE-Education project[2] already?
We've released an Add-on Media for:
* openSUSE 10.2
* openSUSE 10.3
* openSUSE 11.0
* openSUSE 11.1
* SUSE Linux Enterprise 10
containing tons of software for educational environments.
Currently, the generated Online Repositories are hosted by one private
server on:
http://www.opensuse-education.org/download/repo/1.0/
...and this server serves ~1TB per month.
Luckily, we are able to use ftp.suse.com to provide some of the ISO
images (for local installations) containing the same stuff as the
Online-Repositories - THANKS!
Now I want to request space on *.opensuse.org for:
1) ISO images (~27GB)
2) Our frozen Online-Repositories (~27GB)
3) Our Update-Repositories (currently ~400MB)
Why don't we use the Build Service to host our Online-Repositories?
=> Please have a look at our FOSDEM presentation[3] and our 7 Arguments
against using the current OBS for "frozen Enduser Repositories".
I'm looking forward to your answer!
Thanks and kind regards,
Lars
