hi, right now because of imminent edu-dvd 1.0 coming we are on package
freezing

only fixes are allowed

once dvd will be released i'll upgrade the package immediatly

you could take a look here for more info:

http://en.opensuse.org/Education/Edu-CD/Roadmap#openSUSE-Education_1.0_for_11.0

New Scilab 5.0 has new interface and localization support and many new
features, but it has many new deps, since it is built upon java, see
attachment for details.

Hello,

It would be very great! However, Scilab 5.0 has some deps that I don't
think that Opensuse has [1]. I don't know it whould be possible to have
them in a short notice :/

Cheers,
Sylvestre

Hello.

OpenSUSE Education team releases Edu-DVD at the end of September. Can
you package new Scilab 5.0, please? It would be great to have the most
recent version on Edu-DVD and in the final Edu repository.

Thanks in advance.

Kirill (community packager in the openSUSE-Edu team)

P.S. IMHO, such a useful package should be in official repo, since it is
GPL now, there will be no problems and Education repository is good
place to test it.
