I find watching install screens very relaxing zzzzzzzzzzzzz.
:P Ok thanks for all you suggestions guys. I was gonna reinstall 8 and move on from there but I thought I'd have a go a installing 9 from scratch again. I chose 1024x768 from the boot splash screen and installed as normal from there choosing the default settings that suse picked (again 1024x768 16 bit) and it worked. I'll back the config file up now :) cheers again Matt
