We have just got our suse 9.0 upgarde and pro discs. Is there any difference between them? Ive been trying to upgrade my machine, but it wont boot from the CD. It has a Windows NTFS partion and a linux partion. Ive told it to only boot from the CD in bios even disabling booting from HDD. But it just wont do it! I tried using and old suse 8.2 disc, but I get the same result. I tried searching on the internet but as I didnt really know what I was searching for I came up with nothing. If anyone could point me in the direction of some how-to's or tell me where I might be going wrong. It would be very much appreciated. Cheers
Can't vouch for SuSE, but i've had problems trying to boot some RedHat CD's particularly those where the floppy image is 2.88MB. In those situations, there's usually a directory containing floppy images (/boot??). Copy to a floppy using "cat file > /dev/fd0" or with rawrite under windoze then boot of the floppy. -- jez Our capacity for understanding is inversely proportional to how much we think we know.
