Hi,
Has anyone tried using linux on their school network as PDC and package allocation, desktop control etc? I am looking for some other alternatives.
Edmond, This is a very broad subject. In all most all cases "samba" can provide the functionality of Linux <-> Windows connectivity. As far as package allocations are concerned, etc, as long as you have the appropriate software on the server, then it'll work just like a normal W*ndoze one. I have set this up numerous times at my old school, when I was a student there 2 years ago. -- Thomas Adam ===== Thomas Adam "The Linux Weekend Mechanic" -- www.linuxgazette.com __________________________________________________ Yahoo!
