Easy solution given you know the netbios names - add reservations on the
DHCP scope for the particular machines, then block the ip addresses you've
assigned. Now letting the teachers turn that on and off? Probably need to
mess with Webmin.

Subject: [suse-linux-uk-schools] Banning internet access via netbios names

We have squid running on a Proxy Server which works great, however we
would
like to be able to switch internet access off by the room. Ideally using
the
netbios names to identify the machines as we have come to the conclusion
that using static IPs is impracticable. We would also like teachers to
have
access to switch this access on and off.

Can anyone HELP!

cheers

Nathan Harris
