The main reason I decided not to do IT (my school only offers GNVQ, not A-Level) was mainly that I felt it would be a waste of my time :(
Having taught Computing (and now ICT) I have the greatest sympathy for this point of view. Most school courses are pretty pants, being neither education nor training. Excuse an old cynic.
Some of the GNVQ course does make me laugh -- like having to learn how to install software. Sticking a CD into the drive, watching it autorun and clicking "Next" a few times.
What an absolute waste of time (IMVHO).
Ah. You have never had to network a CD then. The whole process becomes VERY non-trivial :-) But as you say I doubt the GNVQ covers that. -- ******************************************************************************** All mail sent and received may be examined to prevent transmission of inappropriate attachments and certain obscenities.
