I teach As/A2 ICT, and Computing. I teach students about ER diagrams and
data definition tables; I think I need a *real* relational database to do
that efficiently. Exam boards set work which involves creating forms and
subforms. There is NO WAY I would ask students to use EXcel for this sort
of stuff. Yes, anything is possible if you're prepared to try hard enough,
but there's usually a 'sensible' way of doing it, and that's not Excel. I
think I'd rather revive my licance for an old DOS-based Paradox than move to
Excel.
