Are you using a 10MB LAN? If you are, then probably the easiest way to fix bandwidth problems is to buy a 10/100 switch, and a 100MB card for each server. You can then use the other ports on the switch to geographically/logically segment your LAN, so e.g. someone printing a 50 page report across the office/classroom doesn't flood the entire building. I did that here with a ~120 node LAN and it made a big improvement.
