Just to clarify: when I wrote "No problem with that" I didn't mean that
I agreed with this state of affairs, but that this part of Frank's post
was accurate and perceptive---unlike the rest, which I disagreed with.
(The security link was useful too, just in case you think I've got it
in for him---it's just that I've heard all sorts of variations on his
theme lately and I wanted to give at least one variant a roasting :-) )

The law has historically been imposed as a means to protect property
and of course the more property you've got the more influence you
have in shaping what becomes law.
No problem with that.
