Yes We're doing something like that on a large scale. Our organization is memebrship driven and members are required to give some many volunteer hours a month. We have several standing committees, of which one is education with a mission on getting FS into public schools. Computer Clubs are great resources, and NYLXS suppliments the clubs with man and material. Ruben On 2001.11.21 19:13:22 -0500 tom poe wrote:
Hi: Yesterday, I went over to the Parks and Recreation Rec Center at one of the city parks, and introduced myself.
I indicated that I wanted to place 2 donated computers in their care, and to help them start a "Computer Club". The Plan is to put the computers in the Rec Center, and eventually build a "Computer Club" using volunteers from the local groups, e.g., Perl Users' group, LUG, etc.
Anyone done anything similar, and, if so, how did it go? Suggestions? Thanks, Tom
