Not a very good start at all - Can I make a 'revolutionary' suggestion
here?

Come on all you lot - email the DFEE and tell them their M$ only policy
stinks - Last time I did this over the teacher threshold applications
they made the .rtf formatted and pdf formatted documents available. If
we sit back and do nothing then nothing is going to happen about a
'common' format for data transfer - other than that the 'common' format
will become Microsoft - I'm sick of this stupid irresponsible behaviour
on the part of these people. Open gov only works if you running
something other than linux and it's time someone put a stop to such
behaviour!

If you agree then email the dfee and complain like mad (but nicely of
course!)
