It looks good and I suppose you might be making your source open, but there doesn't seem much "Open Source" involved in Access or MS SQL Server or Delphi or the platform.
Yes, I know, but I have to start from where I am. I understand that Borland are set to release a free version of Kylix (Delphi on Linux), for open source development. Although the back end is currently MS-SQL, it would have the advantage that the table structures, constraints and so could be in the public domain. With the commercial MIS databases I've seen, your data is held in a 'black box'. Interbase, is now released as an open source database on Linux, www.ibphoenix.com and I'm also interested in looking at using it for the server. regards Richard richard@tortoise.demon.co.uk
