A bit of a wild guess really. Have you allowed the Demon mailservers
to connect to you? You should have something along the lines of:

smtpd: 194.217.0.0/255.255.0.0, 127.0.0.1, 192.168.

in /etc/hosts.allow

The first IPs cover Demons' mail punts.

I use qmail to get my mail via SMTP from Demon so I can't help you
with any Sendmail stuff if you've got a problem there.
