hi all if you are thinking of launching at Linux Expo, Richard Ibbotson at ShefLug mentioned that he had a stand etc etc not a bad idea, but as with many expo's, the organisations (rather than commercial ones) can look a bit downmarket. Big commitment, especially when you are really preaching to the converted. i have been talking to EMAP since BETT in January about an open source prescence, with a 'village' concept to keep the costs down. Thats the right audience. Malcolm On Wednesday 21 March 2001 09:28, kevin.taylor@powerconv.alstom.com wrote:
Just received a note about this from another list - do you think it would be worth aiming at a 'proper' full launch of OSIE at this (or another) EXPO ?
This one is in September - so we should have a reasonable amount of stuff on the go by then ... (hopefully) ?
Just a thought ...
The website in question is : http://www.linuxexpobirmingham.com/EN/home
They have a .org pavillion for associations and LUGs, so we could apply and not have to pay for a stand.
The link for 'associates' etc is : http://www.linuxexpobirmingham.com/EN/associations_lug/
(There is also the Linux EXPO in London too - but this is a different one, and I don't know if they are doing .org stands or not or know the dates ...)
