Just as a pointer, all the kit will be state of the art as expected for win nt or 2000, so rescuing ancient 486's won't be necessary. That's also why I was thinking of dual boot, so if it doesn't work, I can fall back.
Nice to see a belts and braces man. Are you actually going to pay license fees up front? If you are then I think it will be a LOT of money wasted - money that could be better spent on Linux training. B.T.W., if anyone does have any old kit that they want, I do keep trying to set up a recycling centre.
