get the KDE desktop working. I installed Wordperfect (selected it and saw it go in) but I'm blowed if I can find it. Where do apps live and how do I run them? My install listed 1200 applications to install, but where did they go?
To run them you can type their name at the prompt, or click the icon. WordPerfect, I think will get installed under /opt in something like /opt/WP8
Uh-uh, Word Perfect needs unzipping, tar-ing and gz-ing or some such. There is a very rapid message when you select the package about how to install it. BUT the install directory is NOT memorable. I know that WP is a free/pay package and you probably have no control over it, but it would be nice if it installed as all the other packages do with a menu entry which at least starts the install (see gimp).
