Lieber Heinz,
ich bitte um Nachsicht, dass ich mich erst jetzt melde.
Sound bei Videos läuft unter "root" einwandfrei;
unter normalen usern nicht (obwohl sie alle - qua
default-Einstellung - in der Gruppe "video" sind).
Offenbar ist es eine Rechte-Frage, was die Meldungen,
die ich unter X abgefangen habe, auch vermuten lassen:

Das gleiche Problem tritt bei mehreren verschiedenen Rechnern auf;
gemeinsam ist ihnen der "snd-hda-intel". Hier zwei Beispiele:
1) eine Kiste mit einem Asus-Board und AMD Phenom
mit folgender /etc/modprobe.d/50-sound.conf:
options snd slots=snd-hda-intel
# 5Dex.YgS6XqJHu+4:SBx00 Azalia (Intel HDA)
alias snd-card-0 snd-hda-intel
2) ein IBM/Lenovo-Thinkpad mit einem Intel TP
mit quasi gleicher /etc/modprobe.d/50-sound.conf:
options snd slots=snd-hda-intel
# u1Nb.pC0kUcwQ4PA:ThinkPad T60/R60 series
alias snd-card-0 snd-hda-intel
Die Ausgaben von "lspci -v" füge ich wegen ihrer Länge
als Anhänge bei ("Asus-pci.txt" und "Thinkpad-pci.txt").
An der Hardware kann es in beiden Fällen nicht liegen,
denn auf beiden Rechner ist auch 11.0 installiert, und dort
funktioniert alles (seit Anfang an und ohne jede Änderung
an der Installation) einwandfrei.
Da ich eine Reihe von Leuten mit dem gleichen (oder ähnlichen?)
Problem kenne, bin ich für jeden Hinweis und jede Idee sehr dankbar.

Sound bei Videos läuft unter "root" einwandfrei;

Das gleiche Problem tritt bei mehreren verschiedenen Rechnern auf;
gemeinsam ist ihnen der "snd-hda-intel". Hier zwei Beispiele:
1) eine Kiste mit einem Asus-Board und AMD Phenom
mit folgender /etc/modprobe.d/50-sound.conf:
options snd slots=snd-hda-intel
# 5Dex.YgS6XqJHu+4:SBx00 Azalia (Intel HDA)
alias snd-card-0 snd-hda-intel
2) ein IBM/Lenovo-Thinkpad mit einem Intel TP
mit quasi gleicher /etc/modprobe.d/50-sound.conf:

alias snd-card-0 snd-hda-intel
Die Ausgaben von "lspci -v" füge ich wegen ihrer Länge
als Anhänge bei ("Asus-pci.txt" und "Thinkpad-pci.txt").
An der Hardware kann es in beiden Fällen nicht liegen,
denn auf beiden Rechner ist auch 11.0 installiert, und dort
funktioniert alles (seit Anfang an und ohne jede Änderung
an der Installation) einwandfrei.
Da ich eine Reihe von Leuten mit dem gleichen (oder ähnlichen?)
Problem kenne, bin ich für jeden Hinweis und jede Idee sehr dankbar.
