==== man fetchnews ==== ALGORITHM Here is a brief description of what fetchnews does. [..] Second, the upstream server's list of newsgroups (obtained using LIST and LIST NEWSGROUPS) is merged into leafnode's (if timeout_active has expired, the active.read file is not present or the active file is empty) or updated (with NEWGROUPS). Third, fetchnews iterates over the list of newsgroups, performing a GROUP, an XOVER (if supported) or XHDR Mes sage-ID and a number of HEAD and BODY or ARTICLE commands for each group which has been read recently. ==== ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Einfach mal in die leere Gruppe reinwechseln ;) Da findest du dann auch einen Hinweis: Subject: Leafnode placeholder for group GRUPPENNAME ==== Body ==== This server is running leafnode, which is a dynamic NNTP proxy. This means that it does not retrieve newsgroups unless someone is actively reading them. [..] Since you have read this dummy article, leafnode will retrieve the newsgroup GRUPPENNAME when fetchnews is run the next time. If you'll look into this group a little later, you will see real articles. [..] ====
## Unread articles will be deleted after this many days if expire = 15
da hab ich meist 60 ;)
server = news.individual.de initialfetch = 100
Da hab ich 500 ;)
username = meinzugangsname password = meinzugangspasswort
ok
hostname = meinecomputer.site.de
maxfetch = 2000 maxcrosspost = 5 maxage = 10
ok. Relevant ist evtl. noch: ==== man leafnode ==== delaybody = 1 With this option set, fetchnews (8) fetches only the headers of an article for visual inspection. Only when the headers have been read, the bodies of the articles will be retrieved the next time fetch news (8) is called. This can save a huge amount of download time and disk space.
