Also in Xorg.0.log ist mir nichts aufgefallen. Allerdings ist dieses Log-File ziemlich groß und unübersichtlich. Bin mir nicht sicher, von wann welcher Eintrag stammt, also ob es überhaupt mit dem Problem zusammenhängt. Gibt es sonst noch Log-Files, wo was dazu stehen könnte?

Also ich gebe zu, dass mir ohne Logs schwer zu helfen ist. *g* Hier also (tut mir Leid für die Größe) mein Xorg.0.log, nachdem ich aus KDE heraus eine neue Sitzung (XFCE4.4) gestartet habe. Ich werde aus dem Log nicht schlau. Will XFCE halt gerne mal testen, da ich mir doch etwas mehr Geschwindigkeit erhoffe, wenn ich sehr speicherlastige Programme wie ne VMWare laufen lasse. Wäre also wirklich toll, wenn das funktionieren würde. Ich weiß, man könnte auch Windowmaker verwenden. Zuvor allerdings die Ausgabe von startxfce4, mühsam abgetippt. Gibt es irgendwo ein logfile von startx? Wie kann man die Ausgaben mitprotokollieren lassen? "startxfce4 > log" hat nicht funktioniert, da steht nur "/usr/bin/starxfce4: Starting X server." drin. Die Ausgabe ist eigentlich noch länger, aber da steht immer, dass die Warnungen kein Problem sein sollten.
