Was passiert bei einem händisch aufgerufenen grub-install ?
Kein Error, auch sonst keine Änderung.

Mit der Installations-DVD tritt diese Fehlermeldung nicht auf.
Irgendwas ist an Deinem Grub (oder Deinem ganzen System) wohl durcheinandergeraten. Prüfe grub per rpm -V grub - optimales Ergebnis ist keine Ausgabe, alles andere bitte hier posten ;-)
