Auch ein # /etc/init.d/vmware restart funktioniert nicht sondern meldet: "At least one instance of VMware Workstation is still running. Please stop all running instances of VMware Workstation first."
Nach einem Neustart von Linux ist (meistens) wieder alles in Ordnung. Kann mir jemand sagen, wie ich diese "instance" beenden kann bzw die Trümmer, die das vmware beim Abstürzen übriggelassen hat?
Schau mal in /var/lock/...pid nach ob dort die Proces ID noch steht. Wenn ja als root per Hand löschen.
Das reicht leider nicht, denn wenn ich vmware gestartet kriege und versuche eine neue vm zu laden bekomme ich: "Not enough reserved memory is available to power on this virtual machine. To fix this problem either Power Off other virtual machines, use the configuration editor to decrease the memory size of this virtual machine to 64 megabytes, or try to increase the amount of reserved memory for all virtual machines (or disable reserved memory limit checking completely) using the Memory tab under menu option Edit > Application Settings...." Das bedeutet doch wohl, dass die alte Sitzung noch massig Speicher verbraucht.
