| *Installation Instructions -- Unix
| 
|      1. If you are installing from the CD:
|      - Change to the Linux directory on the CD: 
|      cd linux. Then skip to step 3.
|      
|      If you are downloading from the Netscape site:
|      - Download the netscape-i686-pc-linux-gnu-installer.tar.gz 
|      archive.
| 
|      2. Type one of the following to gunzip and 
|      untar the archive: 
|      tar -zxvf netscape-i686-pc-linux-gnu-installer.tar.gz
|      OR
|      gzip -dc netscape-i686-pc-linux-gnu-installer.tar.gz | tar xvf -
|      
|      3. Change to the directory that contains the
|      Netscape installation files:
|      cd netscape-installer
| 
|      4. Run the Netscape 6.1 Installer with the run 
|      script:
|      ./netscape-installer
|      
|      5. Follow the on-screen instructions to 
|      complete the installation process.
| 
|      6. To start Netscape, change to the directory 
|      where you installed it and run the program: 
|      ./netscape 
|      The program starts automatically the first time.
