device apparently does not exist

Hallo,
ich habe eine logische Partition gelöscht und
dafür 4 kleine erstellt ( zwecks /boot - Partitions
unterhalb 1024 Zylinder).
linux (2.4.0) will die neuen Partitionen, die
numerisch am Ende stehen und "not in disk order"
sind NICHT FORMATIEREN !

The device apparently does not exist; did you specify it correctly?
Linux erkennt die Partitionen hda16-hda19 nicht, weil
sie mehr in der korrekten Reihenfolgen stehen :

Ursprünglich gab es eine hda7 ( 970-1023 ), jetzt
sind alle logischen Partitionen eine Nummer heraufgerutscht
und es gibt die Nummern hda16-hda19
Jemand eine Idee wie ich linux klarmachen kann, dass die
logischen Partitionen am Ende DOCH existieren ???
BTW: ich weiss, der neue Lilo keine Problemen mehr mit
den 1024 Zylindern hat
