By de-digesting the FreshMeat [fm] digest, I have found the (apparently)
new version 0.5.2 of your package surl. (Old version last
notified/in tree was 0.5.1).

Description:
surl is a URL shortening command line application that supports various
sites. It supports stdin or filename input. It grabs the URLs, converts
them, and returns the same text that was used in the input. It is known
to work with a wealth of services, such as bit.ly, tinyurl.com, and
tr.im.

Changes:
This release includes a new wrapper file, surl.py, for the bin/surl
script. It also has the correct order of long arguments (--quiet was in
the wrong place). A note for packagers: the shebang is now
"/usr/bin/python".
