This is really not as simple as this. I do have interest in it, but no time to push for it, for example.
Yep, that's probably the same for most of us :-(
As you know out of pure interest nothing gets done. I'm sure there are many people interested in world-peace :)
I guess you know as well but I haven't seen you driving this up to now ;-) No need to blame each other.
Thats what I'm saying! Get your stuff in there and the we figure the rest[1] out.
Time has shown that the other approach (figuring everything out before we package in that repo) failed miserably.
Get going. I will :)
Ok, so a little bit of process is needed though: do we only _link packages or is it ok to maintain directly in Contrib?
We discussed a situation when Contrib was released - the good approach is that maintainers will lost an ownership to packages in Contrib:/version and all maintenance will be done via sumitreq. So linking is better practice (and you can build same packages for many other repositories).
Whom to contact to add a link or a package with permissions?
Read http://en.opensuse.org/Contrib/Adding_new_packages
(I know there is a list of people with write access but pinging one after the other until someone active is found is not really a good process).
