Stella, great point, more information you give to us, more easily we can draw or design something.
About pictures, photos, itś a good idea, sure, but we need to care about to not make a kind of too much, too heavy, too over something. do you got the point?
Maybe some icons works better than pictures, and photos, sometimes working with the size and format of letters works better than pictures too. Maybe a balanced mix of icon, pictures, and typology works great

: Hi all,
After hours of discussion and writing on IRC, we've discovered that there is not really any other sensible way to release articles about the conference than this way:
* First the announcement of the conference, with time and date and a link to the website (just a front page) and info about the location and all that. That should go on Wednesday: https://news.opensuse.org/?p=14908&preview=true
This will require URGENT help from the local team: YOU will have to write about Thessaloniki (you can take from Wikipedia...) and especially about the local community - yourselves ;-)
Some history, local events and other stuff that's interesting would be very good.
* Then, we'll announce the CfP together with the opening of registration later: https://news.opensuse.org/?p=15001&preview=true
This includes a mention that the travel committee will provide support (the rules etc can be announced separately) and also has a call for sponsors (so the sponsorship brochure should be done by then). That article we will promote widely.
Meanwhile, the most urgent stuff is the info about the Greekos ;-)
Please get something in that article! Pretty pictures are helpful, too.

Stathis is working on some text with info on Thessaloniki/Greece. So we should have some news about that later today or tomorrow.
I think that we only need 3-4 lines about Greece, 3-4 lines about Thessaloniki, mention the airport in Thessaloniki. You think we should add some info on the greek openSUSE community? Maybe photos from past events the gr community participated/organized?
Do you have something else in mind?
More detailed information will be of course uploaded, as we go, in the website.
Honestly I wasn't gonna go for photos so much. Jos has already included a photo of Thessaloniki in the article. It's a pretty standard photo of Thessaloniki and I hope I am not the only one that likes it :) Maybe we can add one more photo, again of Thessaloniki. But then again, photos and stuff, totally not my thing... :/ Besides, I wouldn't want to make the announcement too much longer than it already is. Even though there was the actual first announcement of the conference in Greece, it did not really contain so many details, so I am thinking about this announcement to be an easy to read announcement, with the important info and fast to translate (I know it is going to be translated in more than a couple other languages). -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-conference+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-conference+owner@opensuse.org
