Well, it was last Monday, next week I should be able to go wherever I
need. Started discussing stuff with dean directly on the mail in the
meantime. Prices seems to hold, pushing him to prepare some kind of
official contract for University part. He also suggested some
alternatives for dormitory. I think we already checked them, but let's
see if he will be able to came up with something more doable.
Dormitory should be plan easy as they have official price list that is
signed by University and mostly non-negotiable if I understood correctly
(but trying something regarding it anyway). So for dormitory, it's just
up to us to tell them what rooms we will take and pay up and discuss the
catering, which might be a little problem with our own beer, but
hopefully not huge one.
So so far, my original estimate holds and we are on way to have official
contract. Who can sign it on behalf of us? Is it only Michael/Alan? That
would mean that we need English contract, right? Or should I try to
discuss it with Alena and ask her to sign? Or can I sign it on behalf of
us?

Scouted dormitory, pictures and videos here[1], could use some
editing/putting together. Disadvantage, they do the catering and we
would have to negotiate something to be able to sell our beer. Reserved
dormitory for Monday and Tuesday, final details to be polished next
week. I'll either confirm it and tell them details or cancel it. On
Monday I have a meeting with the dean of faculty to discuss everything.
What is needed to discuss is price for the weekend at university (for
LinuxDays conference, RedHat is putting in 1000 EUR). There was also the
option that they'll let us stay at university and move their courses to
the dormitory - more freedom and less work for us or that they'll manage
to give us discount for dormitory. So currently it looks like it will
work, unless we will hit some other major issue. Final price depends on
Monday. I believe that without any discounts and if we would pay for
whole LinuxDays (which we are not going to do), based on current
estimates, total price will be less than 200k CZK ~ 8k EUR. Will get
lower based on RedHat and depending on what rooms we will need.
Bad news, I'm ill and looks like I'm not going to make it to the meeting
with dean. Even if I would make it, I can't really speak. So either I
reschedule meeting (which means more delay :-( ) or somebody from Prague
would have to step in and go instead of me (I'll fill him with what I
wanted to discuss). Any volunteer? Meeting is at 1pm at Dejvice. You can
catch me on jabber - same as my e-mail.
Pavol, any chance you can go? Or anyone else at the team??? We really
need this...
