First, again thank you for the OBS - it's a fantastic chunk of software.
However, I have a complaint. The logging sucks. Log files are splattered all over the place, in different formats, some with and some without timestamps (which makes tracking down problems especially awesome).
So what can be done here? I'd much prefer all logging be sent to one place, and failing that, syslog. Is there any documentation on configuring the logging?
First of all, a usual admin or user should not need the logging at all. We should concentrate on reporting api answers which point to the real problem.
We may never succeed for 100% here, but this should be our goal anyway.
The logging can not really be configured (except from switching between info and debug for the api&webui). Apart from that it is more or less hardcoded in the source.
If you have a better suggestion, please propose it. But beware that we may also ask you to provide patches ;)
Is there a git repo? I seem to recall there being discussion of one. If so, I might take a stab at it. -- Jon -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+help@opensuse.org
