It will avoid zillions of problems and bugs in the future when zillions of average users use it wrong by accident just because they do not easily understand how to use it.
The current osc commands look very much like a stockpile of quickly hacked stuff - I assume it actually is a stockpile of quickly hacked stuff ;-)
