http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1026023 Bug ID: 1026023 Summary: Browser connections to wwwoffle hit SYN flood detection limit Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 42.2 Hardware: x86-64 OS: openSUSE 42.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Network Assignee: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: d_werner@gmx.net QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- I am using wwwoffle running on the local machine for browsing the internet with different browsers and share the cached data. While in online mode the http access occasionally completely stalls for ca. 1 minute. At the same time other protocols (e.g. pop3) are working fine, therefore it is not a general network problem. Whenever this stall of www access happens dmesg shows an entry like this: [ 5945.122506] TCP: request_sock_TCP: Possible SYN flooding on port 8080. Sending cookies. Check SNMP counters. 8080 is the port wwwoffle is listening for browser requests. Searching for possible causes and solutions I found this information: https://fossies.org/diffs/wwwoffle/2.9i_vs_2.9j/ChangeLog-diff.html 2013-04-05 [r2188] Andrew M. Bishop <amb> * src/sockets4.c, src/sockets6.c: Increase the listen() backlog parameter to avoid exceeding it and hitting Linux SYN flood detection/protection limits. Would it be possible to upgrade wwwoffle to 2.9j or to include this fix? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
