http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1017758 Bug ID: 1017758 Summary: [yast2/bootloader]: Make it possible to obtain a bootloader ISO Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 42.2 Hardware: x86-64 OS: openSUSE 42.2 Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 Assignee: yast2-maintainers@suse.de Reporter: richard.bos@xs4all.nl QA Contact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- It's sometimes useful to have the possibility of using a bootloader that's not located at one of system disks. For example to verify that the new bootloader configuration is working correctly, without actually saving it to disk (e.g a new openSUSE setup, while the bootloader comes from a previous openSUSE / linux installation, with partitions at the same disk). As such it will be useful to have to possibility to enable the creation of a bootloader image. This can be done, by adding a radiobutton at the bootloader options tab [1], that enables the creation of the bootloader ISO image. The ISO image could be stored in /boot/grub2/bootloader.iso The ISO will be around 12-15 MB.
