I have installed a new 42.1 VM on the same ESXi host 5.1.0 1065491 as the failing guest. I fail to reproduce with that one. Both - are on latest updates - are running ext4 on rootfs

What would be difference to look into?

I was starting to wonder about different file systems, but if you're running ext4 on the failing system then that's not the difference.

The failing VM has several services running: - OpenLDAP - Dovecot - OpenVPN - Bind - AMAVIS - CLAMD - Postfix but it's not at all a busy system. It serves IMAP mailboxes for five users.

What kind of information would be useful for you? Besides Dovecot all services are currently idling because the services are not fully migrated yet.
