Yes, you need to mount he vmblock-fuse file system to make dnd work. I suggest
that you look at the Debian (or Ubuntu) packages for the systemd setup, I think
they have done a good job there.
Specifically, they add this unit file (called run-vmblock\\x2dfuse.mount):
