Then the first thing to try is to test the installation with brokenmodules=hp_wmi boot option.
This works, WiFi remains on with brokenmodules=hp_wmi But my problem still remains, can't install over wireless. 1. This is an usability issue: it should not ask me for ESSID, it should scan for available networks and let me choose one. 2. Even if I enter the ESSID, it still doesn't obtain an IP through DHCP.
